Toro is a criminal who wants to atone for his crimes. He helps the mayor of his town to escape from the hands of the Japanese by infiltrating their camp and making a scene. As a result, he gets thrown in jail where he meets Alfonso and Gabo, whom he convinces to help him save the mayor.
While the three are planning, some Japanese soldiers interrogate the mayor to find out where he has hidden his money. A Japanese spy named Drigo tells the captain to kidnap the mayor's daughter Chelo. Upon seeing his daughter captured by the Japanese, the mayor reveals the location of the treasure. Later, Toro, Alfonso and Gabo come to save the mayor and his daughter. The mayor gets killed during the escape but not before telling them where the money is hidden. The three search for the money and run into the Japanese soldiers many times along the way. In the end they realize that greed is starting to consume them and they decide to stop searching.
